Astronaut in space

exploring Space

Exploring space is exciting! We would like to travel to other planets and maybe even live on them. Someday we will. This will be the hardest thing we have ever done.

I think travelling to other planets will be hard because:

How will we do this?

We will start with small steps. We have already visited the Moon. The next step will be to visit the planet Mars. This will be harder because Mars is further away. It will take much longer to get there - almost a whole school year! Once we arrive, we'll have to stay for a while, (at least four to six months), so that we can carry out our fact-finding mission. Then we have to travel home again!

What will we need?

We will need to stay healthy and happy to survive such a long trip. What we will need to take with us to stay healthy and happy?

The Challenge

We already know how to build space vehicles that can travel long distances. We have even sent space vehicles to Mars. The hardest part will be having enough food and air for the space travellers to last long trips. How can we do this?
